Earlier this week we reported you that Microsoft has released Windows 10 Build 14342 for fast ring windows insiders.
With the latest flight 14342 Microsoft removed Wi-Fi sense feature due to low usage.
Wondering what is Wi-Fi Sense ?
WiFi Sense in Windows 10 Mobile connects you to more WiFi networks. You’ll be connected to open WiFi hotspots that WiFi Sense knows about. And if you’ve decided to share access to a WiFi network with your Outlook.com contacts, Skype contacts or Facebook friends, you’ll be connected to WiFi networks that they’ve shared using WiFi Sense. You and your friends get Internet access without telling each other your passwords.
In a blog post Microsoft stated :
We have removed the Wi-Fi Sense feature that allows you to share Wi-Fi networks with your contacts and to be automatically connected to networks shared by your contacts. The cost of updating the code to keep this feature working combined with low usage and low demand made this not worth further investment. Wi-Fi Sense, if enabled, will continue to get you connected to open Wi-Fi hotspots that it knows about through crowdsourcing.
