Lenovo owned Motorola has launched the entry level Moto C smartphone in India. the device will be available in Pearl White and Starry Black colour variants and will be sold at all offline stores across 100 cities in the country at a price of Rs. 5,999.
Sudhin Mathur, Managing Director, Motorola Mobility India and Country Head, Lenovo Mobile Biz Group, stated, “According to the reports fewer people are expected to upgrade to smartphones because of concerns over price, need and ability to use. We see this as a huge opportunity for a brand like us to initiate the smartphone journey for feature phone users. At Motorola, we focus on mobility through device innovation, user-centric design and smart connectivity to offer the best possible smartphone experience to the consumers.”
The smartphone was first announced last month along with its elder sibling the Moto C Plus in two variants – the 3G variant of Moto C was priced at €89 (approx Rs.6,500), while the 4G version was priced at €99(approx Rs.7,000) with 1GB RAM/8GB storage option. however, the company has introduced a brand new variant in India which is bundled with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 4G VoLTE support and Dual-SIM.
Coming to the specifications, the Moto C smartphone bears a 5-inch FWVGA (854×480p) Display with a micro-textured back cover. it is powered by 64-Bit quad-core MediaTek MT6580m processor clocked at 1.1GHz paired with 1GB of RAM. the devices comes with 16GB of internal storage, expandable up-to 32GB via MicroSD card support. the smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat update out-of-the box and is backed by 2350mAh battery.
On the optics front, the smartphone comes with 5-megapixel rear camera with 1.4 microns, 74° lens, Fixed Focus, LED flash, Burst mode, Panorama, HDR and Beautification. it also supports Video recording at 720p with 30fps. on the front, there is 2-megapixel front facing camera with 1.0 microns, 63° lens, Fixed Focus, LED flash, Burst mode, HDR and Beautification.
On the connectivity front, the option includes Single/Dual micro SIMs (Slot A: 2G/3G/4G | Slot B: 2G) Bluetooth 4.2, WiFI 802.11 b/g/n, GPS A-GPS, MicroUSB, 3.5 mm audio jack and is packed with Gravity sensor. the smartphone measures at 145.5 x 73.6 x 9 mm and weighs at 154 grams.
