Vivo, the Chinese company that designs, develop and manufacture smartphones has quietly announced a new device in its portfolio of Y-series. the company today launched the Vivo Y79 smartphone in China.
The highlight feature of the device is that it sports ‘FullVision’ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio which is the current market trend along with an 24-megapixel selfie camera with Moonlight glow. the device also includes Face Wake feature which identify face features and unlock the device with-in seconds.
The Vivo Y79 bears a 5.99-inch HD+ (720 x 1440 pixels) IPS Incell ‘FullVision’ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 along with 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. the device is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is further expandable up-to 256GB via MicroSD card. the device runs on FunTouch operating system based on Android 7.1 Nougat update and is backed by a 3,225 mAh battery capacity. The company has also added an AK4376A Hi-Fi Audio chipset in the device.
On the optics front, the device sports 24-megapixel front facing selfie shooter with F/2.0 aperture, 1/2.78-inch sensor, and ‘Moonlight Glow’ Soft-LED flash. it also sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with F/2.0 aperture and Dual-LED flash. the camera also features ‘bokeh’ like effect, panorama mode. it is also capable of capturing time-lapse video and Slow-motion video recording.
On the connectivity front, the option includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB With OTG (USB 2.0), 3.5mm audio jack, and FM radio. it also on-boards accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, proximity sensor, and Fingerprint sensor (at back). the device measures at 155.87 x 75.74 x 7.7 mm and weights at 160 grams.
