Facebook owned WhatsApp rolls yet another feature in its kitty to break the shackles of being labelled as a Chat messenger app. the company from the past year and so is trying hard and pushing features like WhatsApp Status which gives users the ability to share videos and pictures which disappears after 24 hours, and it also recently added the support to share any file type, and also enabled the feature which group multiple photos in-to a album views.
The company now has added a feature which allows users to share text based status which was missing from the popular messaging app and was one of the most requested feature.
The feature is already live on WhatsApp beta app available for Android with version 2.17.315 and is rolled out from the server side. while, sharing the status you can see a new floating pen icon which is used to share text based status. once clicked on the icon you get an option to type a status, choose font, add emoji and change background colour as per your liking. you can also refer the screenshots posted below.
The company is also reportedly working on bringing UPI Base Payment Services in India, using the peer-to-peer Payment transaction.
WhatsApp spokesman stated that “India is an important country for WhatsApp, and we’re understanding how we can contribute more to the vision of Digital India, referring to a flagship government programme that aims to boost the use of Internet-based services in the country. We’re exploring how we might work with companies that share this vision and continuing to listen closely to feedback from our users.”
