Xiaomi, the chinese smartphone manufacturer announced its next smartphone in the budget segment at a launch event held in New Delhi, India. the smartphone is dubbed as “Redmi 4” and is the successor of the Redmi 3S which just become the highest online selling smartphone in the country with a total sales crossing 4 Million units in just a span of 9 Months. the smartphone is available in three variants differ by RAM and internal storage – 2GB+16GB, 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB [RAM+Storage] and is priced at Rs. 6999, 8999, 10999 respectively. the smartphone comes in Black and Gold colour options and will be available on mi.com and Amazon India starting from May 23 at 12pm. And, if you can’t wait that long the Redmi 4 smartphone will first go on sale at the newly launched Mi Home based in bangalore from May 20. the pre-booking begins today with a minimum amount of Rs. 1000 and Users will be able to pre-book the Redmi 4 smartphone from Mi.com and can pick it on the launch day from Mi Home. however, if the smartphone goes out of stock, you will be provided a F-code which can be redeem on Mi.com. you can also protect the smartphone from accidental and liquid damage by purchasing Mi Protect which is priced at Rs.449 for 1 year free maintenance service. They will send the relevant personnel to your address to check the issue and initiate the free servicing.)

Coming to the specifications, The Redmi 4 smartphone features premium metal body with a 5-inch diagonal HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and 2.5D curved display, night display, reading mode which reduces harmful blue light rays, colour temperature adjustment and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor clocking at 1.4GHz with Adreno 505 GPU. the smartphone is packed with 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM and 16GB/32GB/64GB internal storage options which is further expandable up-to 128GB via MicroSD Card support. the smartphone runs on MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow update and the company is also providing MIUI based on Android Nougat out-of-the box. the smartphone is backed by 4100mAh battery support.
The smartphone also features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture with 5-element lens, HDR, PDAF, low light enhancement technology, Panorama, Burst mode, Face recognition and Real-time filters. on the front there’s a 5-megapixel with f/2.2 aperture which features 2nd Gen beautify with 36 smart beauty profiles, Face recognition, Selfie countdown and Real-time camera filter. it also provides video recording up-to 1080p/720 pixels video at 30FPS.
On the connectivity front the smartphone options include 3G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2, Hybrid SIM slot (3-choose-2 Supports nano SIM / Micro SIM / MicroSD card), GPS / A-GPS, Micro-USB, USB-OTG and 3.5m audio jack. the smartphone also on-boards Infrared sensor, Fingerprint sensor (with Ultra-fast unlocking), Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, and Ambient light sensor. the smartphone measures at 39.24 x 69.96 x 8.65 mm and weighs at 150 grams.
