Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer announced the Mi A1 smartphone at a launch event held in New Delhi, India. the device is made in partnership with Google and is the company’s first Android One smartphone. the device will run on pure android operating system, designed and developed by Google. unlike, the other devices from the Chinese firm which runs on customized version of Android, MIUI. the device will received timely security update and are guaranteed to receive Both, the upcoming major version of Android with Android O by end of this year and is touted to be first to get Android P.
Xiaomi Mi A1, The first smartphone from the company running on purest form of Android with guaranteed security updates and the first device in the list to grab the next major version of Android operating system, Android P, when its available.
Coming to the specifications, The Xiaomi Mi A1, sports a metal unibody design and bears a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 p) display with 2.5D curved glass, pixel density of 403PPI, 450nit brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. it is powered by an 2.0GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset paired with Adreno 506 GPU and 4GB of RAM. the device is packed with 64GB of on-board storage and supports storage expansion up-to 128GB via MicroSD card. as mentioned earlier, the device runs on stock Android with the latest Android 7.1.2 Nougat update and is backed by a 3,080 mAh battery with 5V / 2A charging support.
The highlight feature of the device is the Dual Rear Cameras setup which consists a combination of Dual 12-megapixel sensors, one with wide angle lens with a 1.25-micron pixel sensor and F/2.2 aperture and the other Telephoto lens with 1-micron pixel sensor, an F/2.6 aperture, giving you perfect portrait shots and 2x optical zoom. the camera is packed with support for Portrait mode and is capable of delivering depth of field effects like bokeh. it also includes 5-piece lens and Dual Tone LED Flash. other feature includes :

on the front, there is 5-megapixel selfie shooter with 1.12-micron pixel sensor and F/2.0 aperture. it also supports real-time beautification with 36 smart beauty profiles, other features includes Selfie timer and Facial recognition.
The Xiaomi Mi A1 is also packed with several audio enhancement features and includes 10V smart power amplifier paired with the advanced Dirac HD Sound algorithm which provides powerful speaker audio output and deep lows for both music and phone calls. the independent audio amplifier supports high- impedance headphones of up to 600Ω. the device features a top and bottom mounted microphone. Combined with a noise-reduction algorithm by Fortemedia.
Connectivity option includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5G dual band), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/A-GPS, USB Type-C and 3.5mm audio jack. it also on-boards accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, infrared, hall sensor, proximity sensor and Fingerprint sensor on the rear. the device measures at 155.4 x 75.8 x 7.3 mm and weights at 165 grams.
Coming to the pricing and availability, The Xiaomi Mi A1 is priced at Rs. 14,999 and will be available exclusively on Mi.com, Flipkart and Mi Home from September 12, 12:00 PM IST. it’ll also be available offline across Mi Preferred Partners and Large Format Retailers including Sangeetha Mobiles, Poorvika Mobile World, Big C Mobiles, Croma, Vijay Sales and others.
In a separate report Google stated, “Today, our newest program partner Xiaomi just launched Mi A1. This phone is a great example of what Android One represents: a collaboration between Google and our partners to deliver a software experience designed by Google. For example, users can capture moments in stunning detail on Xiaomi’s dual camera with 2X optical zoom. They can then seamlessly save unlimited photos at high quality with Google Photos. Mi A1 will be available in dozens of countries, including India, Indonesia, Russia, Vietnam and Taiwan.”
